Position Program Manager, Igniting the Dream of Education and Access at Lipscomb University (IDEAL)
Primary Responsibility

Lipscomb University is seeking a Program Manager/Employment Specialist for our IDEAL (Igniting the Dream of Education and Access at Lipscomb) program. IDEAL is a Postsecondary education program for students with Intellectual Disabilities. The IDEAL program has the ultimate goal of graduating individuals with improved independent social, communication, and vocational skills who will be prepared to work in a preferred job setting. IDEAL students participate fully in the college environment while taking two classes a semester, participating in extracurricular activities, and taking specially-designed employment skills classes. There is an emphasis on job skills through on-campus and off-campus jobs. Ideally, students will leave Lipscomb with a job in place and will be prepared to live and work independently.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Teach IDEAL employment and social skills classes
-Work with IDEAL students to promote employability skills through direct instruction, modeling, and on-site training
-Observe and collect data at job sites
-Provide training and support to staff and student job coaches

Additional Comments & Information

Bachelor’s degree required in education, business, psychology or a related field.

Experience with students in special education is required; experience in job development, job placement, and job training is preferred. Teaching experience preferred.
